MANILA – Michael Miranda and Philip Paredes are set to switch places as part of the revised PBA trade between NLEX Road Warriors, Blackwater Elite and TNT KaTropa centered on John Paul Erram.
In the revised trade, which is up for PBA Commissioner’s Office approval after the Christmas holidays, KaTropa will first send Paredes to the Elite in exchange for 2021 second round pick.
The Elite then packaged Paredes and Erram to the Road Warriors for Miranda, rookie selections Andres Paul Desiderio and Abu Tratter. KaTropa then acquired Miranda from the Elite for a second round pick.
The revision was made after the PBA Commissioner’s Office rejected the earlier proposal, which is a straight up trade with the Road Warriors getting Erram and the Elite acquiring Desiderio and Tratter.
Miranda, who have blossomed under Road Warriors head coach Joseller Guiao in the 2017-2018 season, will be a welcome addition for the KaTropa with his inside presence and well-developed outside shooting.
Erram and Paredes, on the other hand, will also be an added boost to the Road Warriors’ frontline rotation after recently giving up Dave Marcelo via trade and Asi Taulava close to retirement.
Desiderio and Tratter, for their part, will also strengthen the youth-laden Elite, which made its first PBA playoffs appearance recently. The two rookies are expected to be signed immediately by Blackwater once the trade is approved./PN
