MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has increased to P6 million the reward money for the capture of the killers of four policemen in Ayungon, Negros Oriental.
He announced the bounty increase on Thursday in Malacañang and also offered an additional P500,000 if the heads of the perpetrators are brought to him.
“Ulo talaga ang dalhin mo, para makita ko itsura. Not because I am cruel, I just want to be sure,” he said.
This was the third time President Duterte raised the reward. He earlier offered P1 million but later increased it to P2 million then to P5 million last week.
The slain cops were Corporal Relebert Beronio, Patrolman Raffy Callao, Patrolman Ruel Cabellon, and Patrolman Marquino de Leon – all intelligence personnel of the Philippine National Police’s 704th Mobile Force Company Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Central Visayas.
The four cops were on their way to their detachment in Sitio Nabinca on July 18 when armed men, suspected to be members of the New People’s Army (NPA), shot them./PN
