EACH year, the activities during the Dinagyang festival in Iloilo City have become more and more exciting with must-see competitions, pageants, and shows to fill your 3-day itinerary. But no matter how busy your schedule may be, one should always make time to sample authentic Ilonggo dishes.
This year you only need to visit one place to indulge in the best of the city’s traditional food fare. Richmonde Hotel Iloilo, which is conveniently located within the modern Iloilo Business Park development, presents for just one special night “Tabu-an sa Dinagyang,” a heritage dinner buffet featuring the heirloom dishes of Iloilo’s premier chef, Rafael “Tibong” Jardeleza. A staunch advocate of preserving and promoting Ilonggo cuisine, Chef Tibong has been featured in countless media to educate the public on the true identity of Iloilo food that is much broader than the usual batchoy, pancit molo, and KBL. Expect to be wowed by Chef Tibong’s specialties like roasted lamb, lechon, lengua con setas oliva, tenderloin steak, and many more. Richmonde’s very own Chef Jeffrey Ticao and his kitchen team will also showcase delectable treats like kinilaw na isda, paella negra, paella valenciana, pancit guisado, almondigas and various street food fare.
“Tabu-an sa Dinagyang” is presented in partnership with San Miguel Beer and happens on Jan. 26, 2019, Saturday, from 6pm to 10pm at the hotel’s pool deck area at the 7th floor. Tickets to the dinner buffet are priced at P2,000 nett per person, and already include bottles of San Mig Light Beer and bottomless lemonade. What’s more, you can catch the Festive Mall fireworks happening at 9 p.m. and enjoy the music spun by DJ Enzo of Fatboidjs as you indulge in the sumptuous dinner feast.
