ILOILO – A taxi hit a motorcycle in Barangay Ungka 1, Pavia, Iloilo around 12:50 p.m. yesterday, May 7.
Motorcycle driver Elmor Verano Antonio, 49, of Barangay Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan succumbed to severe head injuries. He crashed against the windshield of the taxi driven by Angelito Garcia Pango, 60, of Barangay Tabucan, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Antonio, who was not wearing a helmet, was declared dead upon arrival at the Western Visayas Sanitarium and General Hospital in Santa Barbara town.
The motorcycle suddenly emerged from the U-turn slot, supposedly going in the same direction as the taxi, according to Police Staff Sergeant Ronie Labiado of the Pavia Municipal Police Station (MPS).
Pango is in the custody of the Pavia MPS./PN
