BACOLOD City – A motorcycle rider was killed when his vehicle crashed against a parked trailer truck, police blotter stated.
Michael Sam Romay Atienza, 38, of Barangay Zamora, Pontevedra, Negros Occidental died of head and body injuries.
He was taken to the Don Salvador Benedicto Memorial District Hospital in La Carlota City where he was pronounced “dead on arrival.”
Police identified the truck driver as Nilo Flores Dumdum, 32, of Barangay Poblacion 1, Sagay City.
Dumdum told the police he parked the truck on the evening of Oct. 13 along a provincial road in Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto, Pontevedra when it suffered a mechanical trouble.
He has just finished fixing the left tire of his truck when the motorcycle crashed against its rear at around 10:56 p.m., Dumdum told the police.
The Pontevedra police station took Dumdum in custody./PN
