ILOILO City – Motorcycle-riding gunmen killed the brother-in-law of Barangay Captain Noeme Hablo of Desamparados, Jaro district.
Carcar Hablo, 27, died of multiple gunshot wounds at the Iloilo Mission Hospital. As of this writing, the police have yet to establish the identities and motive of the killers.
Hablo was shot around 8:15 p.m. on Saturday. A .9mm pistol was used on him, said Senior Superintendent Remus Zacharias Canieso, city police director.
Hablo was at his chicken litsonan business in Barangay Desamparados when attacked. Witnesses said the gunmen were wearing bonnets.
According to Chief Inspector Ruel Firmo, Jaro police chief, the killing could be business-related, due to personal grudges or illegal drugs.
They’re not ruling out anything, said Firmo.
“We received information that he previously received a death threat,” said Firmo./PN
