ILOILO City – Motorcycle-driving gunmen shot a drug suspect in Barangay Cadolonan, San Remigio, Antique.
Twenty-year-old Edson Naquita of Barangay Funda-Dalipe, San Jose died of two gunshot wounds on Sunday.
The shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. Naquita was driving a motorcycle with his live-in partner Glenda Hilado, 27, and his eight-year-old sister as back riders.
According to San Remigio police chief Senior Inspector Janvier Gilza, there were four suspects onboard two motorcycles.
The initial shots failed to hit Naquita but the victim panicked; he lost control of the motorcycle. He and his back riders fell to the ground.
At that point, the gunmen took a good aim at Naquita and hit him this time, said Gilza.
The killers spared Hilado and the little girl.
“We have yet to identify the gunmen,” said Gilza.
Only one of the four men was wearing a mask, he added, citing statements from witnesses.
Two spent bullet shells of a .40 pistol were recovered from the crime scene./PN
