Ricci Rivero and Kobe Paras are set to head the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons squad in a two-day exhibition match with Iloilo Collegiate Selection on Jan. 19 and 20 in Passi City and Iloilo City.
Also in the Maroons roster are UAAP Season 81 MVP Bright Akhuetie, Juan Gomez de Liaño, Javier Gomez de Liaño, Jun Manzo, Jerson Prado, and Antiqueno Felixberto Jaboneta IV.
Completing the lineup of head coach Dolreich Perasol were Bacolod City native Jose Piero Longa, James Spencer, David Murrell, Frederick Tungcab, Will Gozum, and Noah Webb.
Iloilo PRISAA 2018 Tertiary Men MVP Fritchard Dulce of University of San Agustin will banner the Iloilo Collegiate Selection team, which is to be reinforced by two foreign players.
This will be the second time for the Maroons to play in Western Visayas after participating in a pocket tournament ni Passi City on July 2018, where they placed second to Far Eastern University Tamaraws.
The Maroons are fresh from an impressive UAAP men’s basketball campaign that saw them reaching the finals for the first time in nearly three decades but placed second to Ateneo de Manila University Blue Eagles.
The UP-Iloilo Collegiate Selection match for Jan. 19 will be held at three in the afternoon at the City of Passi Arena in Passi City, while the match on Jan. 20 will be held at University of San Agustin Gym at 10 a.m.
