BACOLOD City – He was crossing the road when a motorcycle hit her.
Seventy-two-year-old resident Ria Piornato was killed in a road crash in Sitio Lina, Barangay Bato, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, a police report showed.
Piornato sustained head and body injuries, it added.
According to police investigation, the motorcycle driven by 19-year-old Kenneth Olingay of Barangay Himaya, Hinigaran hit Piornato around 12:05 p.m. on Thursday.
Piornato was brought to the Hinigaran Medical Clinic where the attending physician declared her “dead on arrival.”
Olingay was detained in the lockup cell of Hinigaran police station, facing charges./PN
