ILOILO – A 14-year-old boy sustained a fatal head injury in a road crash in Barangay Aldeguer, Sara town around 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 15.
The motorcycle-driving minor from the town’s Sitio Dawis, Barangay Devera was hit by a Toyota Wigo driven by Marie Leonoras, 27, a resident of Villa Carmela Subdivision, Barangay Poblacion, Zarraga town.
Leonoras, in an interview with DYRI RMN Iloilo, said she was driving the car a bit too fast and was not able to avoid the motorcycle that suddenly took a turn.
Police Corporal Nixon Villanueva of the Sara Municipal Police Station (MPS) said the victim’s family was not aware that he was traveling with a motorcycle and without a helmet.
Leonoras was taken to the Sara MPS. She is waiting for the decision of the victim’s family on whether or not to file charges against her./PN
