ILOILO – A 31-year-old motorcyclist from New Lucena town died after he figured in a road accident in Barangay Sigangao, Zarraga town.
The victim identified as Jovanie Alavado Abogadie, a resident of Barangay Pasil, New Lucena, succumbed to fatal body injuries.
Captain Dandy Ilalto, chief of the Zarraga Municipal Police Station (MPS), said the victim was traveling from Pototan to Iloilo City when the accident occurred at 10:30 p.m. on January 2.
Ilalto said Abogadie reportedly collided with a road construction sign and crashed into a car ahead.
The driver of the said car, who had initially pulled over to assist another motorist who had fallen earlier, was startled by the loud collision. Upon checking, he discovered that Abogadie’s motorcycle hit his vehicle.
Officers of the Zarraga MPS were still investigating the incident.
They also reminded motorists to exercise caution, particularly in areas with ongoing road constructions./PN
