Robbers cart away over P1M worth of cash, goods from NegOcc mall

BACOLOD City – Five stalls inside a mall in Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental were robbed.

San Carlos City police said the affected include a pharmacy, a gadget store, hardware store, and two jewelry stores.

Colonel Rainerio de Chavez, director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, told the media yesterday that the robbers carted away more than P1 million worth of cash and goods.

Based on San Carlos City police station’s initial investigation, the unidentified robbers gained entry into the mall by digging a hole underneath the flooring around 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, August 20.

San Carlos City police were still investigating the incident to identify the robbers as of this writing.

Mayor Renato Gustilo, meanwhile, is offering a P100,000 cash reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the apprehension of the robbers./PN
