Robbery, maltreatment suspects fall

ILOILO City – Two crime suspects were arrested in Iloilo province on Tuesday, police reports showed.

Laurice Bridget Dofitas, 24, of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Lambunao town and Antonio Parcon of Barangay Poblacion, Barotac Viejo were detained.

Dofitas, a suspected robber, was caught in their village. Officers served her a warrant of arrest at 11 a.m.

Acting Presiding Judge Gemalyn Faunillo-Tarol of the Regional Trial Court Branch 31 issued the warrant and set the bail bond at P24,000.

Dofitas was hauled to the Lambunao police station custodial facility.

Parcon, on the other hand, was also arrested in their house. He was accused of maltreating a minor, police said.

Officers served him a warrant of arrest at 2:30 p.m.

Parcon has been charged with slight physical injuries in relation to Republic Act 7610.

The court set the bail bond at P2,000. It was not clear as of this writing if the suspect has posted bail.

Parcon was detained in the custodial facility of the Barotac Viejo police station./PN
