ILOILO City – A robbery suspect was arrested in a hot pursuit operation around 8:10 p.m. on Sept. 28, in La Paz district.
Suspect Angelo Pelobello, 28, and a resident of Barangay Sambag, Jaro district, was detained at the La Paz Police Station, facing robbery charges.
According to Catherine Tolentino, 28, of Barangay Ugbo, Alimodian, Iloilo, while she was walking along Luna Street, La Paz, someone suddenly grabbed her neck and threatened her with a sharp object and said, “Holdup ni, ma-act ka lang nga migo mo ko.”
Tolentino said the suspect ordered her to climb up the overpass, however, she was able to fight back, pushed the suspect away, and they both fell down.
Pelobello then took away the victim’s cell phone worth P8,000 and immediately fled towards Barangay Magdalo, La Paz.
The victim immediately asked for help from the people around her.
La Paz police later arrested the suspect in the area of barangays San Nicholas and Magdalo in La Paz.
Tolentino positively identified the suspect and recovered her cell phone./PN
