Actor Robin Padila encouraged men to stop masturbating.
In an Instagram post that Robin shared on Nov. 8, he cited a study suggesting that men will have an increased level of testosterone by about 45 percent should they not masturbate for a week.
“Did you know? When men stop masturbating, the level of testosterone in their body increases over +45% in only 7 days. It continues to increase as one continues to abstain,” he said.
According to an article published by HealthLine.com, testosterone is important because it is responsible for “increased muscle mass,” which helps to control weight and gain energy.
In Robin’s long caption, he narrated his own experience.
“Nagawa ko na no’ng araw ito after my divorce 11 years ago. Pagkagaling ko ng India after mag-aral ng Yoga at Kalaripayat (Indian Martial arts), I literally can leap very high and do some fancy kicks, strikes, and blows!” the actor wrote. “The energy is flowing and bursting like a fountain!”
Robin also cited some benefits of celibacy.
“Matagal na matagal akong walang sex at masturbation kasi parte ng mantra/prayer ang celibacy sabi nila it gives you a spiritual power. I read a book also about Mahatma Gandhi, siya rin nag-practice ng celibacy. His wisdom and intelligence daw came from that spiritual power.” (Pep.ph)
