ROXAS City – A Police Officer 1 died in a motorcycle crash in Barangay Tabuc Sur, Panitan, Capiz.
Amorlin Barruela was detailed at the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company in Aklan province.
His vehicle hit the steel railings of the national road fronting the Panitan public market, police said.
Barruela was thrown off the vehicle and smashed on the pavement, causing him a fatal head injury, said the police.
A 33-year-old resident of Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Maayon town, the police officer was not wearing any protective gear at the time, police added.
The incident happened on Sunday. Barruela was on his way to this city from Barangay Bailan, Pontevedra at the time.
The officer was taken to a hospital where a physician pronounced him “dead on arrival.”/PN
