Roxas City assigns house numbers

By RALPH JOHN MIJARES

ROXAS City — The city government here is currently assigning house numbers in all residences in the metro.

The initiative is being led by Planning Officer IV Ruthella Basas.

Basas said the city government last month completed the survey of all houses in the urban barangays: I to XI, Tanque, Lawaan, Banica, Baybay, Tiza and Inzo Arnaldo.

She said they are now validating the houses.

Once the validation of houses in the urban barangays is completed, houses in the 29 other barangays will be surveyed, she said.

Basas said the project is necessary because some foreign embassies require the exact address (with house number) of those who want to go abroad.

She said some barangay captains are also complaining about having to take in packages and letters for recipients with unidentified locations.

According to Basas, Mayor Angel Alan Celino wants the house number plates to be given to the residents for free.

She said the mayor wants the initiative completed as soon as possible.

The city government also plans to put up a signage showing a legend of houses and house numbers in the barangays./PN
