ROXAS City – The city government here through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) turned over the P50,000 cash gift to a centenarian from Barangay 3.

MSWDO personnel handed the check to Lola Josefina who celebrated her 100th birthday on Thursday, February 27.

“Lola Josefina, kabay nga mangin mas masadya ka sa imo 100th birthday kag hatagan ka pa gid sang malawig nga kabuhi kag maayo nga lawas upod ang imo pamilya,” Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said.

The 50,000 cash incentive is a gift of the city government under Mayor Dadivas to each qualified recipient that they could use to purchase food and medicines, among others.

The city mayor clarified that the incentive is an initiative of the city government.

It is separate from the cash gift program established under Republic Act 11982 (RA), or the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024, that provides P10,000 to Filipinos upon reaching ages 80, 85, 90, and 95, while maintaining the existing P100,000 benefit for centenarians as mandated by RA 10868 known as the Centenarian Act of 2016./PN
