ROXAS City – This city was declared “Beyond Compliant” in the 2024 Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence in Risk Reduction and Management.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said the award is proof of the city government’s preparedness in time of calamities and disasters.
“Luyag ko pasalamatan ang mga tawo sa likod sini nga kadalag-an. Una ang aton mga katapo sa City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, ang CDRRMO-RCERT sa pagpanguna ni Pong Saneo, mga frontliners nga pirme kaupod naton sa pagresponde kag kamo nga pumuluyo sang Roxas City sa inyo kooperasyon. Madamo na nga kalamidad ang gin-atubang kag nalampuwasan bangud updanay kita, nagabuligay,” said Mayor Dadivas.
The city mayor and Saneo received the Gawad Kalasag award from Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) 6 chairperson and Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 6 director Raul Fernandez during the recent awarding ceremony in Iloilo City.
Gawad KALASAG (KALamidad at Sakuna LAbanan, SAriling Galing ang Kaligtasan) is a prestigious recognition by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and OCD for excellence in disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, and humanitarian programs./PN
