ROXAS City – Two houses, a coffee shop and another structure were razed by a fire that broke out early yesterday morning in Barangay Tiza here.

The house of couple Ramon and Josefina Albay was totally damaged as well as the house of their son Johnny Albay.

Their coffee shop and another structure were partially burned.

The Roxas City Fire Station was still investigating the origin of the fire as of this writing. They secured a sample of scorched wiring which would be subjected to fire laboratory examination to determine if electrical short circuit caused the fire.

Meanwhile, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and City Social Welfare and Development distributed food packs, hygiene kits, among others, to the fire victims that will also undergo psychosocial intervention.

The city government also pledged financial aid to the affected families./PN
