ROXAS City – The office of the Libas Fishing Port here is on lockdown after one of its workers tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

According to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, the patient was a 64-year-old male resident of this city’s Barangay Baybay.

Dadivas ordered the closure on Aug. 21 until further notice.

The patient, Dadivas said, experienced fever on Aug. 12. He was initially brought to a quarantine facility here on Aug. 15 and was subsequently transferred to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.
Dadivas ordered local authorities to cordon the area of the fish port where people conduct auction. Motorboats were also disallowed to go on fishing for four days.

However, Dadivas allowed boats that were still at the sea to disembark and drop their catch at the port for two days.
Contact tracing and swab testing, meanwhile, were conducted to those who came into contact with the patient./PN
