ROXAS City – The city government will shoulder the P1,000 registration/participation fee of 150 Grade 11 students intending to enroll at St. Joseph Vocational and Technical Training and Assessment Center Inc.
These students should be residents of Roxas City.
The center’s senior high school program or courses for Academic Year 2021-2022 include Carpentry, Plumbing and Masonry, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Bread and Pastry, Food and Beverage Services, and Cookery.
A memorandum of agreement was recently inked between the city government represented by Mayor Ronnie Dadivas and the center represented by Revered Father Gybbyn Gumban and Father Paul Henry Bocboc.
“Sa subong nga panahon in demand sa iban nga pungsod ang mga skilled workers gani daku nga opurtunidad sa mga kabataan nga libre nga makatuon sa isa ka vocational school agud madasig sila makaangkon sang trabaho kag maayo nga sweldo,” said Dadivas.
Gumban said this is a big help to students and their parents.
“This is also an avenue for the government and the church to work hand and hand, makabulig kita sa mga kabataan nga makakuha sang senior high school kag afterwards hopefully makapasar sila and we can help them find jobs, then sila naman dayun makabulig sa ila pamilya,” said Gumban.
