ROXAS City – Following this city’s shift to modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) yesterday, border control was also implemented.
Border checkpoints were set up in four entry and exit points of the city – barangays Lonoy, Adlawan, Balijuagan, and Banica.
“Ang checkpoints magasiguro nga masunod sang insakto ang mga pagsulundan sa idalum sang MECQ, partikular ang health protocols sa mga nagapasulod nga salakyan,” said Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.
Under the MECQ guidelines, public utility jeepneys and buses are allowed to have passengers 50 percent of their capacity.
On the other hand, tricycles are only allowed to have one passenger.
Manning the checkpoints are members of the Philippine National Police, Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard, Highway Patrol Group, Traffic Management Unit and volunteer groups.
Also, among others, the movement of vulnerable sectors such as those 18 years old and below and 60 years old and above are limited.
There is also a curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m./PN
