ROXAS City – To enable quicker response to emergencies, the Roxas City Government inaugurated its Emergency Operation Center (EOC).

Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, who led the ceremony on Friday, May 10, said the EOC will serve as a command center equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and control technology for quicker and more efficient response to emergencies and calamities, among others.

The EOC is operational 24/7, particularly its high resolution closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras placed in 47 strategic areas in the city.

The city mayor also expressed his gratitude to Office of Civil Defense Region 6 led by Director Raul Fernandez for the agency’s invaluable support in realizing this project.

For his part, Fernandez commended Roxas City for its proactive approach to disaster management and emphasized the importance of such facilities in safeguarding the city against unforeseen emergencies.

The OCD-6 director reiterated the agency’s commitment to continue supporting local initiatives aimed at enhancing disaster resilience.
