ROXAS City – This city has been recognized as the Gold Awardee for Drug-resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) treatment success rate for quarters 1 and 2 (national level).
The Department of Health (DOH) through its Quarterly Race to End TB Awards particularly cited Roxas City Health Office TB DOTS – Programmatic Management of Multi Drug Resistant TB (PMDT) Satellite Treatment Center for its successful and efficient services.
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas expressed elation for the recognition and lauded the men and women behind the city’s treatment center.
“Buot silingon, tanan nga DRTB patients sang Roxas City kag kabanwahanan nga ila gin-asikaso nag-ayo kag nakatapos sa malawig nga treatment process kag mga adverse side effects bangud sa pagtutok kag maayo nga medical management sang mga staff sang City Health Office TB DOTS-PMDT Satellite Treatment Center,” said Dadivas.
It can be noted that in the whole Capiz province, only the Roxas City Health Office has the TB DOTS – PMDT Satellite Treatment Center.
The program is actually funded by Global Fund Access for TB, which is being managed by the Philippine Business for Social Progress in partnership with DOH and Roxas city government./PN
