ROXAS City – Operating for seven months now, the Roxas City Diagnostic and Laboratory Center in Hortus Botanicus has so far processed nearly 5,000 specimens.
“Ang aton laboratory is performing efficiently and excellently. As of May 22 naglab-ot na sa 4,916 ang ginpatigayon nga tests,” said Councilor Gary Potato.
The specimens tested were from 3,887 Roxas City residents, 983 residents from various towns in Capiz province, and 96 residents from other provinces in Panay Island.
The city government pushed to have its own testing center for a more efficient management of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic in the metro. Specimens need not be sent to laboratories in Iloilo city and province for testing.
“Wala na kita nagapabug-at pa sa iban. Kita na ang naga-test sang kaugalingon naton nga pumoluyo,” said Potato.
The laboratory releases test results within 10 hours.
“Kita diri sa Western Visayas dapat magbinuligay. We should do our share para mapakigbatuan ini nga krisis. Ang laboratory sang Roxas City nagabulig sang daku sa COVID response sang Western Visayas,” said Potato./PN
