BACOLOD City – A policeman assigned to the Roxas City Police Station in Capiz province was injured – along with his wife and minor son – around 8:40 p.m. Friday, after figuring in a road mishap along Rafael Salas Drive, Purok Mainuswagon, Barangay Sampinit, Bago City, Negros Occidental.
Bago City police identified the victims as Police Officer 1 Chrysler John Amante Hernaez, 28, of Pontevedra, Negros Occidental; his wife Rizabelle Halang Hernaez, 27; and their 5-year-old son.
The initial investigation reveals that the policeman was driving his gray Kawasaki Rouser NS160 motorcycle near the area when they accidentally hit a stray dog. The accident left Hernaez unable to control his vehicle. The policeman and his companions fell onto the cemented road as the motorcycle skidded.
All three sustained injuries and were rushed to the Bago City Hospital for medical treatment by the Bago City emergency response team./PN
