ROXAS City – This city is updating its Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP). A public hearing for its proposed CLUP 2021-2030 was recently held at the Dinggoy Roxas Civic Center.
According to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, it has been many years since the city last updated its land use plan.
“Gintinguhaan sang aton administrasyon nga subong nga tuig maaprubahan ang updated CLUP para sa masunod nga 10 ukon 15 ka tuig. Ginhiwat ta subong nga hapon ang public hearing agud mapamatian ang concerns sang nagkalain-lain nga sektor nga importante sa pagpasar sini nga plano,” said Dadivas.
The city mayor said the CLUP 2021-2030 will serve as a roadmap for development that will set the direction for the city in the next 10 or 15 years in terms of infrastructure, tourism, and road network, among others.
Invited during the public hearing were various stakeholders, academe, and different concerned government agencies and sectors.
“Importante para sa aton nga ma-update kag mapasar ini nga CLUP agud abanse nga mapreparahan kag maplanuhan ang palaabuton. Indi naton gusto nga pas-anon sang aton kabataan ang mga problema nga mahimu tugahon kon kita indi maghulag subong kag wala nag-obra sang aton obligasyon,” the city mayor added.
Specifically, among the plans laid down during the public hearing include the following:
* development thrusts/strategies for road network,
* commercial development,
* information and communications technology development,
* coastal area management,
* agro-industrial development,
*sustainable agriculture development,
* tourism, heritage and cultural development,
* forest protection,
* ridge to reef framework, spatial strategy, and
* zoning ordinance policies.
The planning was spearheaded by the Technical Working Group, City Planning and Development Office, Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) under Vice Mayor Inday Teresa Almalbis, SP’s Committee on Zoning and Land Use chairman Councilor Paul Baticados, and department heads./PN
