
ROXAS City – Barangay Bago here was declared the champion in the “Upod Kita sa pagExcell Barangay Search for CURES” of the city government.
CURES is the acronym for “COVID-19 Unified Response and Effective Strategies”.
The city government launched this barangay-level contest to encourage village councils to design and implement ways to stop the spreads of coronavirus disease 2019.
Barangay Bago was recognized during the 4th Excellence in Local Governance Awarding Ceremony here.
Other barangays with commendable anti-COVID-19 undertakings were the following:
* 2nd – Barangay Lawaan
* 3rd – Barangay Milibili
* 4th – Barangay Punta Tabuc
* 5th – Barangay Barra
* 6th – Barangay Culajao
* 7th – Barangay Talon
* 8th – Barangay X
* 9th – Barangay Cabugao
* 10th – Barangay 1
Mayor Ronnie Dadivas thanked the barangays for their anti-COVID-19 initiatives.
The winners got the following cash prizes:
* first – P100,000
* second – P50,000
* third – P30,000
* fourth to 10th places – P5,000 each
The city government also gave special citations to barangays that helped enforce border restrictions – Adlawan, Lonoy, Balijuagan, Tanza, Banica, Loctugan, and Bato.
The special award for Zoning Containment or Lockdown, on the other hand, was conferred to barangays Cagay and Culasi.
“Ang CURES isa ka paagi agud aton maganyat kag hatagan inspirasyon ang mga barangay officials nga maghulag kag maghimu sang mga inisyatibo para mapangapinan ang ila nasakupan pareho sang pag-implementar sang facemask/shield ordinance, physical distancing, pagdigamo sa mga quarantined locally stranded individuals kag madamo pa,” said Dadivas./PN
