Roxas COVID cases drop to 2

ROXAS City – Authorities here are hopeful that soon this city would be totally free from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

As of Feb. 1, active COVID-19 cases here further dropped to only two following the recovery of one patient from the infection.

This latest patient to successfully fight off the virus was a 63-year-old woman from Barangay Banica.

Her recovery brought to 624 the total number of COVID-19 cases here that overcame the illness.

On the other hand, the two remaining active cases were in the barangays of Milibili and Libas. One was a frontliner while the other was a case of local virus transmission.

Also, yesterday was the 10th consecutive day that Roxas City logged no new COVID-19 cases.

Since March last year, Roxas City recorded 663 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with a death toll of 37.

The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, tiredness, and dry cough.

Some patients may have aches and pains, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat or diarrhea. These symptoms are usually mild and begin gradually. Some people become infected but don’t develop any symptoms and don’t feel unwell./PN
