ROXAS City – Four men were arrested in two separate drug buy-bust operations in this capital city.
One of them is the 23-year-old Barangay 9 resident Remart Alfonso, a police report showed.
Alfonso was caught after he sold suspected shabu to an undercover police officer for P1,000 in Barangay Punta Tabuc around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday.
The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit led by Senior Inspector Hilbert Gervero staged the sting operation.
Recovered from Alfonso’s possession were two sachets of suspected shabu and a cellphone he allegedly used in his illegal drug transactions.
Gervero said Alfonso is a newly identified “street-level” drug personality, adding, “Nangin matunog ang iya pangalan sa pagduso sang illegal nga droga.”
Alfonso admitted engaging in the drug trade, adding that it was a friend from Barangay Lawaan who encouraged him into such business.
Meanwhile, three other drug suspects were arrested in Barangay Tiza around 10 p.m. on Monday.
The 43-year-old Billy Gaborne, 40-year-old Leo Gaborne and 22-year-old Geno Moises Alejaga – all residents of Roxas – were caught in an entrapment operation that the City Drug Enforcement Unit staged.
“Madugay na naton nga ginpaidalom sa surveillance ang mga suspects before kita nag-conduct sang operation,” said Roxas City police head Superintendent Dante Tayco.
Recovered from their possession were five sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P12,000, three cellphones and P1,000 marked money.
The police also impounded the motorcycle that the suspects used.
Alfonso, the Garbones and Alejaga were detained in the lockup cell of the Roxas City police station.
They were all facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said./PN
