KALIBO, Aklan ā The anti-narcotics unit of the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO) arrested a drug pushing suspect in this capital town.
The 37-year-old Patricio āJunā Pelaez was caught after selling shabu to an undercover officer for P2,000 around 4:20 p.m. on Thursday, a police report showed.
When frisked, Pelaez ā a resident of San Roque Street, Roxas City, Capiz ā yielded three more sachets of shabu worth some P30,000 and P50,000 cash, police said.
APPO Drug Enforcement Unit head Chief Inspector Frensy Andrade said the Pelaez has been under surveillance for three months.
He has been supplying illegal drugs in Kalibo and Boracay before was he was arrested, Andrade added.
āHindi naman siya nagresist sa pag-aresto sa kanya sa buy-bust. Nagpakilala siya na Jun Pelaez sa ating asset. Halos every week siya dito at nagsusupply ng droga sa Kalibo at Boracay,ā said Andrade. āAyon sa aming asset, palagi ang suspek sa Boracay. Siya mismo ang nagtitinda lalo na pag may nag–oorder sa kanya ng shabu. Mga kustomer niya mga parokyano sa bars.ā
Pelaezās supply of illegal drugs comes from Metro Manila, stressed Andrade.
Pelaez was detained and facing charges for violation sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
