Roxas mulls facility for mild, moderate COVID patients

ROXAS City – With coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections increasing and hospitals being overwhelmed with patients, the city government is establishing a temporary treatment and monitoring facility” (TTMF) for mild and moderate cases.

A portion of Hortus Botanicus will host the TTMF, according to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.

“Kabahin ini sa aton inisyatibo agud makabulig solusyon sa problema sang nagagutok na nga mga ospital,” said Dadivas.

As of June 3, this city had 263 active cases of COVID-19 of which 240 were local transmission, 15 healthcare workers, and eight frontliners.

Earlier, the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital (RMPH) revealed it was already bursting at the seams with COVID patients.

Dadivas, together with representatives from the Capiz Medical Society, hospital administrators, City Health Officer Dr. Lory Cahilog, and Dr. Faye Besana, Councilor Paul Baticados and Ronald Amigo of the COVID-19 Command Center, recently inspected the facility.

Dadivas said the city government is now preparing for the logistical requirements and personnel needed.
