ROXAS City – A team of senior high school students of the University of Perpetual Help, Pueblo de Panay Campus here invented a robot disinfector against coronavirus disease  2019 (COVID-19).

Guided by their Research Adviser Kenneth Dela Piedra and Senior High School Principal Ace Bombaes, the students recently presented their invention to Mayor Ronnie Dadivas.

They called it the “Hygieia Mechanical Robot Disinfector Using Far-UV Light” – a robotic device which can be used to disinfect rooms to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

The team also unveiled to Dadivas another invention called “Physical Distance Detectors”. These could be used in various establishments to strictly enforce social distancing.

Dadivas hailed the young inventors and assured them of the city government’s support.
