RT-PCR test for Antique-bound travelers mulled anew

ANTIQUE – Gov. Rhodora Cadiao is exploring the possibility of once again requiring Antique-bound travelers – vaccinated or not – to submit negative results of their reverse transcription – polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests.

She said she would monitor the status of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections in the province for several days then come to a decision.

The inbound travelers could be returning residents, non-residents, authorized persons outside of residence (APOR), or overseas Filipino workers.

For the moment, the provincial government imposes to travelers the requirements stated in Cadiao’s Executive Order No. 206. These are the following:

* negative RT-PCR test for unvaccinated  inbound travelers only

* approved S-Pass quick response (QR) Code (apply for S-Pass at least 12 hours before travel to give leeway to the coordinators to process the request)

* Notice of Coordination and Acceptance

For those fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the vaccination card issued by a legitimate vaccinating establishment and certificate of vaccination from the vaccination site or Department of Health portal (vaxcert.doh.gov.ph) must be presented.

Also being observed throughout Antque is the curfew from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.  But APOR, nightshift essential workers, persons with medical needs or emergencies, and persons availing themselves of urgent legal aid are exempted from the curfew.

As of Jan. 5, Antique had 12 active COVID-19 cases – eight from San Jose and one each from Anini-y, Belison, Laua-an, and Sibalom towns./PN
