Sacks of ‘illegal charcoal’ recovered

ILOILO City – Eleven sacks of charcoal were recovered at a waiting shed in Barangay Nasapahan, Lemery, Iloilo.  Their transport was believed to have no permit.

The sacks were left behind by an unidentified owner, police said.

Police brought the sacks to the police station around 3:30 p.m. on April 29.

Anyone transporting charcoal without permit will be charged with violation of Section 77 of Presidential Decree 705, or cutting, gathering and/or collecting timber or other forest products without license, police said./PN
