ILOILO – Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) acting director Police Brigadier General Sidney Villaflor welcomed the participation of the Special Action Force (SAF) in the campaign against illegal drugs.
“Marching order sa akin ni SILG (Secretary of Interior and Local Government Benhur Abalos)…na pag-igtingin ang accomplishment o trabaho ng PRO-6 sa anti-illegal drug (drive),” said Villafor.
The acting regional director, who was installed on Monday, said the war on drugs could not be won by the police alone.
“Kulang ang tropa ng PRO-6…(dapat) tulong-tulong. Hindi lang naman kasi pulis ang dapat magtrabaho,” said Villafor.
He added: “Eradicating the illegal drug problem is dapat community effort. (There must) be a multi-dimensional approach. Hindi pwedeng kami lang. Hindi pwedeng PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) lang. SAF lang. Local chief executives lang. Tulong-tulong tayo.”/PN
