Sagay City hospital resumes patient admissions

BY DOMINIQUE GABRIEL G. BAÑAGA

BACOLOD City – The Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital (AEMSMDH) in Sagay City, Negros Occidental has resumed accepting patients.

The hospital temporarily stopped accepting patients last week after hitting capacity.

The hospital management informed the public that they will follow proper screening procedures prior to either accepting patients or referring them to other government-run hospitals.

The AEMSMDH has a maximum capacity of 70 beds.

Most of those admitted during the temporary suspension were reported to be ill with flu, pneumonia and gastroenteritis.

Earlier, Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson reached out to the AEMSMDH management to coordinate with the provincial government regarding their needs.

AEMSMDH is run by the Sagay City government and is not under the provincial government./PN
