BACOLOD City – The Alfredo E. Marañon Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sagay City, Negros Occidental, temporarily suspended its admissions Sunday morning, Dec. 3, after the facility hit full-bed capacity.
In a statement released via Sagay City’s government’s official social media page, the hospital management said that the number of patients coming in has increased, resulting in their triage tent, emergency room, and all wards reaching full bed capacity.
During this period, the hospital will only cater to “extreme emergency cases” and advised the public to look for alternative hospitals.
The hospital management assured the public they would release another update once the situation changed.
It can be recalled that in January of this year, the hospital was also forced to suspend admissions after a spike in gastroenteritis cases caused the hospital to hit capacity.
The hospital has a 25-bed capacity and is supervised by the city government of Sagay. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
