BACOLOD City – Police have yet to identify the suspect in shooting a farmer in Purok  Maligaya, Barangay General Luna, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.

The 30-year-old resident Ronald “Canoy” Manlanas was harrowing the sugarcane field that a certain “Eliza Cara” owns around 6 a.m. on Thursday when he was shot, a police report showed.

Manlanas sustained gunshot wounds on the different parts of the body and died, police said.

The suspect used M-16 and M-14 rifles in shooting Manlanas, according to the investigators.

Police were still determining the motive in the shooting./PN
