BACOLOD City – Sagay Football Club clinched the crown in the Negros Provincial Meet 2019 secondary boys football via a 2-1 win over NOPSSCEA in the gold medal match at the Panaad Park and Stadium here.
Conversions from Jonan Lozada and Ryan Monares were more than enough to carry the Sagay FC as the Negros Occidental representatives in the WVRAA Meet early next year in Aklan.
On their way to the championship round, Sagay Football Club cruised to a 3-1 shootout victory over Kabankalan behind the conversions from Monares, Lozada and Rohderick Rodriguez.
In the other semifinals match, the NOPSSCEA edged University of Negros Occidental Recoletos, which later bagged the bronze medal after winning the battle for third place game.
For NOPSSCEA, this will be their second consecutive runner up finishes after settling for silver medal last year against Cadiz City./PN
