Sagay local mauled

BACOLOD City – In Barangay Himoga-an Baybay, Sagay City, Negros Occidental, a man was beaten.

Bystanders mauled the 40-year-old resident Alfredo Tenerife after allegedly assaulting a policeman and a barangay captain, a police report showed.

According to the police, the 46-year-old village chief John Bersolto and 37-year-old Police Staff Sergeant Reynaldo Clarion responded to the area where Tenerife became unruly.

Tenerife then attacked Bersolto and Clarion using bolos around 9 p.m. on July 14, the report added.

Bersolto and Clarion managed to subdue Tenerife and recovered from the latter’s possession the bolos, police said.

Tenerife was brought to the Cadiz Emergency Clinic for treatment.

He was then turned over to the Sagay City police station’s lockup facility./PN
