ILOILO City – The 52nd Iloilo-Guimaras Paraw Regatta Festival concluded on March 2, showcasing Western Visayas’ maritime heritage with thrilling sailing competitions, artistic exhibits, and culinary events.
A paraw is a traditional double-outrigger sailboat that has been used by fishermen and traders in the Visayas for centuries.
Known for its distinct, colorful sails and graceful movement on the water, the paraw is deeply tied to the culture and history of the region.
Iloilo City’s Mayor Jerry P. Treñas praised the festival’s success, attributing it to the strong collaboration between the Iloilo City Government, Iloilo Festivals Foundation, Inc. (IFFI), and the local community.
