ILOILO City – No less than the father positively identified the young man who was found dead in Sitio Linao, Barangay Balabag, Pavia, Iloilo on Tuesday morning.
But the father appealed that his son be not publicly named, said Police Officer 3 John-John Serra of the Pavia police station.
The father said his son was 15 years old and a Grade 8 (second year high school) student. They were residents of Jaro district.
According to Serra, the father requested that his son be autopsied.
The teenager had gunshot wounds on the head and chest.
A farmer watching over his grazing carabao discovered the body around 4 a.m.
According to Pacifico Jaculino of Barangay Balabag, he initially heard two bursts of gunfire. This got him curious and he decided to check the area where the shots came from.
In an area growing with tall grasses, Jaculino discovered the body.
Residents of Sitio Linao said the man was not from their place.
An empty shell of a caliber .9mm pistol was recovered from the crime scene together with the victim’s wallet which had no identification card./PN
