
ILOILO City – A graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of San Agustin ranked No. 1 in the recent licensure examination for medical technologists.
The 21-year-old Reiven John Borbon Bernales of Barangay Calitan, Panay, Capiz said he cried upon learning he topped the exam with a rating of 90.50 percent.
A graduate of Central Philippine University, meanwhile, ranked No. 9. Alfred Cesar Deza Carado had a rating of 89.20 percent.
The Professional Regulation Commission released the results on Sept. 25. Out of 6,453 examinees, 4,743 passed.
Bernales said his family inspired him to study hard.
He also thanked his teachers “halin sang preschool, elementary, high school kag college.”
“Kag above all, si Lord gid ya. Always gid ko naga-pray sa iya kag naga-thank you,” said Bernales, a consistent honor student in elementary (President Manual A. Roxas Memorial School SPED), high school (Cong. Ramon A. Arnaldo High School in Roxas City – Special Science and Math Class) and college.
