San Carlos drug op nets P168-T ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Seven individuals were caught in a drug buy-bust operation at Ylagan Extension in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.

Suspected shabu valued at around P168,000 was recovered from the suspects the police identified as Vincent Emmanuel Bacurnay, 31; Joselito Lumbrion, 42; Rodolfo Mansueto Jr., 35; Romeo Barba, 43; Romel Mangasang, 49; Arthur Lorezo, 41; and Bryan Bocateja, 34.

Joint elements of the San Carlos City police station and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency staged the sting operation around 6:20 p.m. on Friday.

The target of the buy-bust was Bacurnay, police said. He sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer for P500.

Recovered from the suspects were a total of four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and P320 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.

The suspects were detained in the lockup cell of the San Carlos City police station.

They were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
