San Enrique’s No. 10 fugitive nabbed

ILOILO City – After hiding from authorities for 18 years, the No. 10 wanted person in the municipality of San Enrique was arrested.

Joel Garde, 47, of the place, was collared at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday, May 11, in Purok Mahogany, Barangay Walang, Lambunao, Iloilo.

The San Enrique Police Station (MPS), headed by Captain Johnny Oro, was armed with an arrest warrant for frustrated murder in Criminal Case No. C-2750 issued by Judge Cecilia Aronee Celiz-Hofileña of the Municipal Circuit Trial Court. A bail bond has been recommended for Garde’s temporary liberty.

Oro said Garde was accused of trying to kill Joseph Billones of Barangay Gine Nuevo, San Enrique sometime in February 2005.

“We have been looking for him after we reviewed persons who have pending warrants of arrest. When we received information that he was in Lambunao town, we immediately coordinated with the police,” Oro said./PN
