ANTIQUE – To avoid long queues of aspiring candidates for the October barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE), the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in San Jose de Buenavista has set a systematic filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC).
This province’s capital town is composed of 28 barangays.
Below are the barangays and their schedules:
For August 28
* Atabay, Badiang, Barangay 1, Barangay 2, Barangay 3, and Barangay 4
For August 29
* Barangay 5, Barangay 7, Bugarot, Barangay 6, Barangay 8, and Cansadan
For August 30
* Funda-Dalipe, Igbonglo, Inabasan, Madrangca, Magcalon, and Malaiba
For August 31
* Maybato Norte, Maybato Sur, Supa, San Fernando, and Bariri
For September 1
* Mojon, Pantao, San Angel, San Pedro, and Durog
For September 2
* Open to all 28 barangays
The COC filing will be held at the activity center on the 2nd floor of the municipal mall.
Aspiring BSKE candidates were reminded to bring the following requirements when filing their COC:
* five copies of a duly notarized COC for the position aspired for
* five copies of the latest identification picture (passport size)
* long brown envelope
* P30 documentary stamp
COC forms are available at the Comelec office or through the website: https://comelec.gov.ph.
“Pagkatapos ma-fill-in ang mga information needed sa COC kag antis kamo magpa-notaryo sa abogado, palihog ibalik anay sa opisina kang Comelec for corrections kag ma-check mayad ang COC,” said Mayor Elmer Untaran.
COC filing will officially begin from Aug. 28 to Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Comelec office is open from Monday to Saturday, even if Aug. 28 is a national holiday (National Heroes Day)./PN
