MANILA – As they aim to snap their losing runs in the ongoing 2019 Honda PBA Commissioner’s Cup, the San Miguel Beermen and the Blackwater Elite has brought in new reinforcements.
The Beermen, which is currently at 10th place in the standings with 2-5 win-loss record, has tap the services of former NBA player Chris McCullough to replace the ineffective Charles Rhodes.
McCullough was a former player from Syracuse where he averaged 9.3 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.7 steals and 2.1 blocks in 28.1 minutes per game before tearing his ACL.
Despite the injury, McCullough was still selected during the 2015 NBA Rookie Draft by Brooklyn Nets before playing for the squad for one season. He also suited up for Washington Wizards in 2017.
Meanwhile, the Elite have brought in Staphon Blair to replace Jameel McKay, who was send home by the team even before playing for the squad due to his poor performance in their practices.
The 26-year-old Blair, a former University of Central Florida stalwart, was left out during the 2016 NBA draft and have serve as reinforcements at Belgium, Slovenia and Portugal.
Blair will be the Elite’s third import this conference after originally tapping Alex Stepheson before returning to United States due to an ailment forcing the squad to tap McKay./PN
