ILOILO – A 30-year-old man was shot in Barangay San Jose, San Miguel town.
Dyezrelle Malaygay survived the attack but had to be treated.
Police identified a suspect – the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) federation president of San Miguel, Mikhaill Tadifa, 24, of Barangay 11.
The shooting took place at around 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 13 outside Malaygay’s house.
Prior to the shooting, Malaygay and Tadifa had a spat on social media about the unfinished basketball league organized by their SK, according to Police Major Sullen Domingo, the town’s police chief.
“Nagbaisay sila sa social media…naghangkatanay sila mismo didto sa San Jose sa atubangan sang balay sang biktima,” said Domingo.
Tadifa’s whereabouts remain unknown, according to Domingo.
The San Miguel police launched an investigation. It still has to determine what gun was used on Malaygay./PN
